Wildfire Prevention and Forest Restoration
Colorado's wildfires have become more frequent, larger, and more destructive due to a combination of climate, forest conditions, and human activity. Reforestation is an important part of recovery, but it requires careful planning because not every burned area naturally returns to forest.

Era's focus areas to combat this problem are:

Forest thinning:
Removing overcrowded small trees, dead wood, and dense vegetation to reduce wildfire fuel and improve forest health. -
Collecting native seeds:
Gathering seeds from healthy local forests to preserve genetic diversity and ensure trees are well adapted to Colorado's climate. -
Planting native tree species:
Reforesting burned areas with native trees such as ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, lodgepole pine, Engelmann spruce, and aspen, chosen based on the local elevation, soil, and climate. -
Restoring soil: Stabilizing burned landscapes with mulch, logs, erosion-control barriers, and native grasses to prevent erosion.
Wetlands in the Rockies
Colorado's wetlands are vital to the watersheds of the American Southwest. Many cities including Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles rely on the water from the Rocky Mountians.

Wetlands in the high mountians are important to the effectiveness of the Wests' watersheds.
​
Era is collaborating with government environmental departments to restore these wetlands. The wetlands provide habitat, store water, and sequester carbon.
​
Era's primary role in these projects is in the revegetation and reforestation of the wetlands.
Denver Projects
Era is working on revegetating public spaces in neighborhoods that have been affected by industrial pollution for decades. These neighborhoods have the worst air quality in the State of Colorado and among the worst in the USA.

These projects will:

Improve local air quality

Improve public spaces in disenfranchised areas so all can have access to Colorado's natural beauty

Prevent erosion in river systems

Clean heavily polluted areas

Create jobs and opportunity for those who are underemployed
